GATE is a site-specific performance project at the 11-acre 'stabilized ruin' of Eastern State Penitentiary Historic Site in Philadelphia. 

Izu House


Collaboration with dancer/choreographer Leah Stein, Roko Kawai, musician Toshi Makihara, and Tokyo artists Hideo Arai and Mika Kimula on site at Izu House in Chihan-An, Ohito, Izu Peninsula, Japan.

Battle Hymns


This co-commissioned score is performed by the Mendelssohn Club Chorus directed by Alan Harler with site-specific staging & choreography for singers & dancers by Leah Stein & music by composer David Lang.

This collaboration with Germaine Ingram is part of The Spirits Break to Freedom, an ongoing performance project that reflects on the practice of slavery by George & Martha Washington while they resided in the President’s House, the nation’s first

“white house”, in Philadelphia.

Bellows Falls


This piece featured dancers Leah Stein and Jungwoong Kim and violinist Diane Monroe as they explored the full extent of the space, light, and sounds of the venue, an old industrial building converted into a dance studio.
